WWE Pays Tribute to the late Paul Bearer?

Undertaker pays tribute to Paul Bearer

I wasn't at all surprised to see the tribute at the start of last night's "Monday Night RAW" for the late Paul Bearer. The show starts off with the biggest star that Bearer managed, The Undertaker. Taker made his way to the ring where the urn that Bearer was notorious for carrying, was set up. Undertaker proceeds to get on one knee in that famous pose of his, in honor of his late manager.  What happened next...sort of surprised me and to be honest...made me a little mad. CM Punk's music hits the arena and he comes out, interrupting what really was a touching tribute. I'm not blaming Punk because we all know, the wrestlers just do what they are told. I just want to know who, in the back thought that Punk didn't have enough heat on him, that he needed to go out and ruin a serious moment. I know, WWE used to be all about pushing boundaries but this is really pushing it. CM Punk is a great heel and I really don't see why the writers (or whoever came up with this idea) thought the Punk/Undertaker match at Wrestlemania wasn't already a huge deal.

On a much lighter note, a great moment came on last night's RAW when the extremely ridiculous character of Fandango came out to tell Tensai to pronounce his name correctly or he wouldn't wrestle him. Man, this is getting stale real fast. The good point came when Fandango brought attention to Naomi, saying he wanted her to say his name since she was the only one there with "...any rhythm and talent" and then saying she was "better than all this". Is this a hint that they will eventually start using Naomi more? I really hope so! I'm a huge fan of hers!!! Naomi is extremely talented and I can't wait to see her wrestle more!!!
Could Naomi be on her way up!?

Cody wants no part of Brock Lesnar
I didn't think I would be pumped as I was to see the New Age Outlaws wrestling again. I'm sure it's a short-lied reunion though, seeing as they are in the Lesnar/Triple H feud. Road Dogg and Billy Gunn were out last night to wrestle Rhodes Scholars when Brock Lesnar's music comes on. I loved the look on Cody Rhodes' face, like he was thinking,"Oh no! We're out!" haha As expected, Lesnar takes both Road Dogg and Billy Gunn out with an F5, leaving them laying on the mat as Paul Heyman tells the WWE Universe that Brock has accepted Triple H's challenge at Wrestlemania but only if they get to pick the stipulations. Sounds good up until Heyman says that they won't reveal the stipulations until AFTER Triple H has signed the contracts!!! Say WHAT!?

RAW Goes Old School 3-4-13

Oooooo...chills! Monday Night Raw's Special "Old School" episode starts off with "The Phenom" himself, The Undertaker coming out onto the rampway and he holds up his hands for the Wrestlemania logo to appear on the TitanTron. For weeks now, it has been "will he or won't he". It only makes sense for The Undertaker to be at Wrestlemania but I really hope that they don't end his streak!

Is PG Era the problem?

What a show! In case you missed RAW tonight, you REALLY missed a good one! It's shows like this that I miss! There were a few matches here and there that I could have done without but man, were there some AMAZING spots!

The first 15 minutes alone were.....WOW! This is the stuff I miss seeing! First off, I knew the whole Paul Heyman/Vince McMahon showdown wasn't going to turn into a real fight. I mean, McMahon just had freakin' HIP REPLACEMENT surgery! I winced and felt nauseous every time Heyman hit Vince with the crutch! Eeekk! That made me squirm like whoa! haha Then Brock Lesnar comes out...yeah, I saw that coming but what I didn't expect was Triple H!!!! I'm telling ya, try your hardest to skip those spoiler sites! I had no idea Triple H was going to be there and I had MAD chills when I heard his music!

Triple H and Brock get into a "little scuffle" (sarcasm, cuz it was CRAZY) and Triple H throws Brock into the ring post splitting Brock's head open! He was bleeding like crazy! I can't believe they allowed the cameras on him as long as they did! Then Triple H throws him into the post again and it doesn't look like Brock puts his hands up or anything. That looked painful! Eeep!

The WHOLE crowd was on their feet! This is the kind of stuff I miss in old WWE. I'm not saying that they HAVE to have blood on the show. I'm just saying that they have lost their edge and tonight definitely showed how much the fans missed it.

Another huge highlight of the night was the match between John Cena and CM Punk. To recap, the winner of tonight's match would go on to face The Rock at Wrestlemania. Now...a powerbomb by Cena, a piledriver by Punk and then a hurricanrana by Cena...all in one match!? Also, the match was so back and forth that I couldn't tell who was going to win. That's another thing I miss...not being able to know who is going to win. CM Punk is my guy, so I was already into the match because of him but after seeing this match, I have soooo much more respect for the both of them. That was seriously a great match! Reminded me of why I love this sport!

LOTS OF NEW STUFF IN THE WWE!!!

These last two days in the WWE have been quite exciting and a LOT has gone down. First off was the 2013 Royal Rumble pay-per-view. The Royal Rumble has always been a favorite of mine...being topped only by Wrestlemania. The actual Royal Rumble match usually brings backs some surprise guests and this year certainly didn't disappoint!

The first surprise entrant was #2....The "Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla" himself, Chris Jericho!!! It's so good not reading the Dirt Sheets and spoilers because I was completely unaware of Jericho being at the pay-per-view.  Man, was it good to see Y2J!  As always, he put on a great show and all I can wonder now is how long he'll be around for this time. I think his sporadic appearances keep him popular. The crowd is always behind him and every time he returns, he gets a huge pop from the crowd. I love it!

The next surprise entrant was non other than Goldust!!! I'm a huge fan of his and to see him show up and go right for his little bro, Cody Rhodes was definitely a highlight, in my opinion! The reaction from the crowd was amazing! They were completely behind Goldust and for him to be eliminated by his own brother definitely adds needed heat to Cody.

Another "surprise" appearance in the Rumble was The Godfather who was eliminated super fast and left with his "lady friends". One of my favorite moments of the match was when Kofi Kingston was almost eliminated but evaded this by jumping on the back of eliminated, Tensai. Then he preceded to stand on the announce table while asking for a chair and "chair-hopped" his way back into the match. Way to go, Kofi!!! :)

Finally on to the end of the match. The final participants were Ryback and John Cena. I was kinda hoping Ryback would have won this one but in a completely expected ending, John Cena was the last man in, winning the 2013 Royal Rumble match.

Last match of the night was the much anticipated, Rock vs Punk match for the WWE Championship. To be honest, I thought Punk would retain the title and Rock would just end up leaving again to make another movie. However, after the lights when out and Rock was attacked by "The Shield" (even though, we didn't see them), Mr. McMahon ended up restarting the match by the request of The Rock. This time, the match ends with Rock pinning Punk after "the People's Elbow", ending CM Punk's historical 434 day title run and one of the few recent title runs to actually mean something....again, in my opinion. ;)

Now on to tonight's Monday Night Raw, which was in Las Vegas....so naturally they did the Raw Roulette. All throughout the night, there were silly, time-wasting segments such as the "Make Me Laugh" challenge with The Prime Time Players and Ryback and a "Dance Off" with Brodus Clay and Tensai (dressed in lingerie after not being told the stipulations had been changed.) Ugh. Later on the 3rd inductee into the 2013 WWE Hall of Fame was revealed to be the former 5 time WWE Women's Champion, Trish Stratus! Congrats are in order...WAY TO TO GO TRISH!!!!
One of the more interesting segments of the night was Mr. McMahon calling out Paul Heyman for a performance evaluation. McMahon shows the footage of Paul Heyman talking to Brad Maddox about paying him and The Shield off for "jobs to be done". Before McMahon can say to Heyman those words we all know he was going to say, Brock Lesnar's music starts up! I thought he was gone for good again. Definitely didn't see that coming! In a cringe worthy moment, Lesnar hits McMahon with an F5 and McMahon lands on his side and immediately grabs his lower side area. The man is getting old...he shouldn't be taking moves, let alone an F5!!! If you frequent WWE.com enough like I do, it was revealed that McMahon suffered a broken pelvis. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it turned out to be a real injury! Poor McMahon.

All in all, I'd say this has been an exciting couple of days in the WWE. It was certainly filled with interesting comebacks and I can't wait to see how things play out. Certainly looking forward to the Elimination Chamber ppv next month! My 3rd favorite wrestling pay-per-view. Yeah!!! Alrighty peeps, (by the way, where is Christian?!?!?) thanks for reading and as always, feel free to leave me questions or comments. They are always appreciated! ;)

Smackdown 1-25-13 and Other Ramblings...

I really enjoyed watching Smackdown tonight. I was actually looking forward to it. It's been a very long time since I have been excited to watch wrestling. The main thing that had me interested to watch was, "The Shield". I have literally spent the last two days looking all over the internet at all things Dean Ambrose (or Jon Moxley, whichever you prefer). I do believe I have become obsessed...not in the stalker-ish kind of way though, no worries. ;) He is a very talented talker. His promos are beyond greatness! These past two days I have searched YouTube for his promos and matches and got stuck on Tumblr looking at Dean Ambrose tags. I think I may need an intervention. lol ;)

I've read others and heard others compare Ambrose to The Joker. I think that is a perfect comparison. His mannerisms and everything. His voice, to me, is a mixture of Michael P.S. Hayes and the guy from "America's Most Wanted", John Walsh. Maybe you all feel differently, I don't know. Just what I think.

Back to tonight's Smackdown. It is really a shame that they are totally misusing Natalya. Who does her being Khali's "girlfriend" benefit? Not Khali and certainly not her. She is one of the best female wrestlers they have and yet, they never know how to use her. I mean, I guess being Khali's girlfriend is better than that stupid "farting" gimmick they put her in a while back. It was good to finally get to see her wrestle tonight. What drives me crazy is they brought her out to Khali's theme music and when she won, they again played his music. Ugh! She has her own! Why they feel playing his was a good idea is beyond me.

Best In The World!!!
On to my man, CM PUNK!!! Punk is the perfect "entertainer". I say this because not only does he look good but he also has amazing wrestling abilities and his promo skills are off the charts! Easily, one of my favorites talkers. Being a wrestler, excuse me...."sports entertainer" is more than the ability to wrestle. You have to have presence...and CM Punk has that! Personality is a huge factor. That's why I really love Dean Ambrose too. He definitely has "presence".

Daniel Bryan is on!!! Love me some Daniel Bryan! This gimmick they have with Bryan and Kane is hilarious and I like it a lot but I hope they start doing something more and better with Daniel. What I'd like to see is Daniel being in a consistent and interesting feud with someone and him having some "epic" battles. We all know Bryan can fight. I just wish he was in a more serious role.
Hug it out boys! ;)

Last thing I felt like mentioning was how glad I am to have JBL back on commentary! He always ends up saying something hilarious. My favorite line tonight was, "We got a knocked out goat". haha Oh that JBL. Daniel Bryan really does need to cut his beard or hair...either one...or both. haha

Alrighty, well if you are reading this...thank you for reading to the end. Sorry I tend to ramble on forever! Thanks again! I'm thinking I might start blogging after every episode of wrestling. Not sure yet if I'll do it or not. Just a thought. ;) Thanks again for reading! Feel free to leave me your thoughts or complaints! ;)

AJ Lee's Kissing Another....

Ok, so how many other guys are they going to put AJ Lee with!? I mean, Dolph makes guy number 5...just this YEAR!!!

First, there was Daniel Bryan....which was cool because this is when the whole "crazy AJ" kinda happened. That's when her obsession started. Then, there was the hilarious kiss with Kane. I loved that one! She's all skipping around him and then...BAM....jumps on him and plants a kiss on  the Big Red Monster! :) Then...another good storyline was when she kisses CM Punk before pushing him through a table.

Next was John Cena, after Vickie Guerrero tried to get AJ fired for "having an inappropriate relationship with a WWE Superstar"...or something like that. Anyway...that kiss lasted freakin' FOREVER! haha Then comes the TLC pay-per-view when AJ cost John Cena the match. So...now she is with Dolph Ziggler. On the Live SuperSmackdown tonight, Dolph and AJ were pretty much making out in the middle of the ring.

Keep in mind, all of this has happened in one year! Is that the only storyline that they can put AJ in? I mean, she is an amazing wrestler and she is a good talker...so she is more than capable of handling something that doesn't involve a male! It was fine the first couple of times but now it's just getting tiresome.

We'll just see how this goes...but I really hope that she will be put in a title scene very soon. She can really pull the Divas division out of it's slump. Here's hoping!

THE SHIELD

I'm a huge fan of the new faction in the WWE called, "The Shield". A group consisting of members, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. I love this group as a whole but I also like each man individually.

Let's start with Roman Reigns. I feel like he doesn't say much so he's almost like the silent enforcer. A tall enforcer with killer looks! I mean, come on ladies, he is gorgeous! ;) Alrighty...back to the important things. Roman is the largest man in the group and can handle the larger opponents. Also, it may be unknown to some of you that he actually has wrestling in his family. His father is Sika of the "Wild Samoans" and the brother of former WWE Wrestler, Rosey. So...the man has wrestling in his blood.

Seth Rollins is probably known by some for his time in Ring of Honor. He has been wrestling since 2005 and on a side note, I can't help but think of CM Punk when I see him. They look like they could be brothers. I swear, when I watch Rollins wrestle, I wonder if it's really CM Punk. Their movements and style are quite similar and they have the same body type. Just watch this video on YouTube. Not that anyone really watches NXT anymore but Rollins was the inaugural NXT Champion, defeating Jinder Mahal.

Last but not least, we have Dean Ambrose. He's like the "mouthpiece" of The Shield. He does most of the talking in their promos and to be honest, I think he's pretty dang good at it. To me, Ambrose is a bit scary. The looks he gives makes him seem unstable and I love it! That is the kind of feeling you should have when you are dealing with a heel character. Ever since I first saw him as part of The Shield, all I could think was "old ECW". You know, when ECW was "E"CW. He just has that dangerous look and feel about him.

All of these guys are in their mid-20s so I feel they have a long future, if the WWE doesn't "eff" up The Shield like they did "The Nexus". What are your thoughts on The Shield?
